Hi there,

I've been checking out some WW2 era 7.92 mauser headstamps, and I have come across references to MOD 30 & MOD 88 primers, can anyone shed any light onto this for me, and is there anyway of telling the difference, ive Googled and none the wiser.

regards
Michael

Tony, I am sorry, that is not correct.

Primer 88 is plain brass
Primer 30 is copper plated (rust free)
Primer 30 black (instead copper plated, black lacquered) only on blank 33 and lS and ls tracer.
Primer 30/40 Zink plated
Primer 43 Zink plated (only for the air force instead primer 88. (you can only see it on the label)

I stand corrected. I wrote that without checking the documentation so it serves me right!
Thanks Dutch.
