Has anyone got any info on this head stamp and box

DST1160G-514-81-VOL 1 Small Arms Identification Guide dtd 20 August 1984 has it as Syrian (pg. 181). Cheers, Bruce.

Definitely Syrian and made by Defence Industries in Damascus. However, I do not think this is a 7.92 x 57mm Mauser - I think you'll find it is a 7.5mm MAS. Jim

Definitely 7.5mm, as indicated by the "V,O" on the headstamp.

Thank you for your identification, I just had a quick look and put it in the ammo safe when you put them side by side the difference is clear
