7.92 mm x57

Just recieved this 7.92mm and cant find anything on the Headstamp B T 3 35, i take it that the 3 is either a lot number or month ,35 the year ,Any help most welcome ,Dave

Hi Dave,

According to Ian Hogg's "The Cartridge Guide", BT3 are in fact Cyrillic letters, and stand for Voini Techniki Zavod, of Kragujevac, Yugoslavia.

Agree with Roger, this is a well known Yugoslav headstamp (but would be wary of any identification by Hogg!)

OK, I am willing to be corrected, but if it is Dutch, why is the headstamp in Cyrillic and in what weapon did the Dutch use 7.9mm rimless (not rimmed) rounds in 1935?

Tony, it is not a Dutch round it is Yugoslavia.

A Dutch produced 7,9 Mauser round is unknown to me.

Me too! I was agreeing with jonnyc saying it was 100% Yugoslavian.
