7.92x57 Mauser Blanks.


Have determined that these are 7.92x57 Mauser, manufactured in 1953 by: Bombrini Parodi Delfino, Rome.

They are Blanks but are very precisely made in 'aluminium.'

Could these be inspection rounds?


Would be grateful for any additional background regarding this production?

I have the same dummy round. The case is in chromed brass with magnetic ball.
Probably for a supply to Egypt

Many thanks for your reply. The case looked and felt like polished aluminium, but.........it seems that I; 'goofed.'

As you suggested, the ball is magnetic.

Was it typical to make such a high quality "dummy?"

I hypothesize that the high quality is due to the fact that it is an order for abroad. One of the first orders post WW2
However, all these cartridges are in perfect condition. No signs of use. They were probably never delivered
