75mm case info needed

Im hoping that someone can help me, Im researching 75mm field guns from the Boer war and know that the French 75mm Creusot of 1895 gun was used, what I would like to fined out is the case length, rim diameter and did it use the same shells as the later 97 model gun or any info on pre 1902 shells and cases for any 75mm guns.

I have seen a 75x350 case with a 1895 date. I always wondered what it was, now that I hear about the Creusot gun you might have explained it to me. Based on what I have seen I am 99 % sure the case is like the M1897 case.

I have a case that measures 75 x 330R (92mm Rim). It has the typically French double stepped rim, and the markings are also very typical of Pre-1900 French cases. I am told that this was made for the Boers, and that is why the lot number only is shown on the headstamp.

I have attached a photo of the headstamp. When I got this case it had a ring attached to the primer pocket to make it into a gong. I don't believe it has ever been loaded or fired as it is too clean on the inside.

I have seven of these 75mm QF Creusot cases, all engraved to indicate that they were brought home as souvenirs at the end of the Boer War. One has no markings; the others are stamped: L.8. L.21. L.28. L.33. L.43. & L.51.
Does anyone know what these numbers refer to? Falcon - I see you refer to these numbers as "lot numbers". Any idea how many cases would be produced per lot? Also, is it relevant that there are no duplicate numbers?

I don't know how many cases would have been produced per lot. This would have varied between factories.

I am not even certain that they are case lot numbers.
