I would like to get information on ths early 75mm projectile that came from a Japanese collection. The brass fuze plug is home-made.
Is it a Krupp design and would it have been used by Japan? No markings are visible as it has been restored and painted.
The body is 74.5mm diameter. Drive bands are 77mm. 5mm band width. 160mm long with no fuze. Fuze thread approx. 19x3.0mm pitch.

It's this japanese shrapnell I think. Driving band design is Krupp, but much italian influenced. I am not sure what role Italy played in Japanese armament in the 1880's but it seems they played a mayor role. Probably the whole shell was made in Italy for export to Japan.
