Looks to me to be a rotted German 77mm Field Gun projectile (possibly an HE) that has been re-banded and has a British no.101 PD fuze jammed into it. If you look closely, you can see the double crimp grooves under the band which are typical of German 77 projos.....
Actually, I looked a little closer and believe it is a fired 77mm shrapnel projectile. You can see the bulge on the upper body which is typical of a fired model 1896 N/A 77mm shrapnel shell. This bulging often happened with the early projectiles as the thin casing and large load of shrapnel balls caused a lot of pressure before blowing off the fuze adapter..........
