8.8cm Sprgr stencils

The 8.8cm Flak 18 and KwK 36 are not something I tend to collect but I still like to keep an interest in them. Unfortunately the majority of the Sprgr HE projectiles and 8.8cm Flak 18 cases are the German ones reconditioned by the Finnish.
In fact it is nearly impossible to find a HE projectile that is not ex Finnish "13 SK 6 44" stamped.

The other problem is that any painted Sprgr projectiles are often repainted.

I have attached some pictures of a new projectile and case that took my interest due to original stencils on the case and the projectile not being a grooved example.

The projectile is a solid base 8.8cm Sprgr. L/4,5.

Can anyone tell if this is a Stg or a Pr. zugz projectile?
I am also interest to learn anything that can be identified from the case stencil markings.

Many thanks

Hi

i have just received a shell and case. thee shell has Wa stamps all over it,

it is marked with a U the 13 Sk 6 44. it is also marked bsw and Przugz

there is also a small b and 20

there are vertical grooves, 4 long ones and a series of short ones above the 13 Sk marks.

does this mean it is a finnish re-work?

the fuse has Ekzdr C/28 bgt 114-41

could anyone tell me what i have please

Sorry, forgot,

i would like to paint it up like a WW2 88 Flak, what colour should it be and what markings should be on the steel case and the projectile

The EK Z C/28 is a naval fuse. It wasn't fitted to this projectile.

The groove marks were to aid fragmentation but didn't really work.

It is an ex Finnish stock projectile but all that means is was keep operational after the war. Then it was sand blasted and sold as surplus.

The picture shows the KwK 36 case which was for the tank but the projectile is the same colour for the Flak 18.
