I am restoring a steel 800mm Dora/Gustav cartridge case in my collection. It was ground dug, so it had lots of heavy pitting. I have spent many hours filling the pits and sanding the interior and exterior smooth. It is now ready for paint. Problem is, I have no idea what color it should be painted. I want it as correct as possible, so if anyone can point me in a direction for both color and for markings, it would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks in advance!
