A really good Mills top coat

I've been kind of experimenting around with top coats while waiting on my 36 parts to finish the damn thing, Well I got the oparts deal straightened out and they should be here in a few days, meanwhile I re-did the X's and green line and topcoated with this product, Will show end result when I complete grenade but I think results are dramatic. Will leave it there for now...Dano

Dano won't a water based coating make a Mills grenade rust? Or have you put a decent coat of something underneath?
Just a thought.

Dave, Andy was nice enough to put a healthy coat of shellac on it before I bought it. Other than that the water evaporates as the coat dries. Win win...Dano
