Hi All,
Here is a case that was original for the 3-Pdr gun, but which has been cut down and adapted for another use. The length is now 154mm, and the mouth is now 55mm and has been internally turned, presumably to allow for the seating of some type of closure disc or wad.
The primer pocket has been considerably enlarged so that it will take one of the larger sized primers. The original headstamps have been barred out, and "D.C.T. Mk V" and "PHD 1945" added. Not seen one of these before; - yet another one of those cases adapted for some type of presumably short-lived anti-submarine weapon.
Regards,
Roger.
