Hi all,
Just wanted to thank everyone here here for their help, exhaustive knowledge and willingness to share photos of your amazing collections. I'm a history undergrad who's always had a passion for the technology of war, and the information on these forums has been illuminating in the extreme.
My small collection of bits would no doubt be of little interest to most, but I thought I'd share the few bits I have that might be worth looking at. Here are: a 1942 dated 20x99R Soviet round (for the ShVAK and B-20 cannons), a 1941 Italian 12.7x81SR HE round (poking too far out of its case, it got stuck :tinysmile_angry_t:), a 1942 .55 Boys (MkII?) 13.9x99B and a 1937 dated 20x138B with WaffenAmt markings. Apologies for the awful photos, I dont have a camera and was using the one on my laptop. Just wanted to give something back to these forums.
Hope this was of interest,
Nathaniel

All collections begin somewhere, ask anyone on here and they will remember their first pieces. Interest can be sparked in a variety of ways, but beware, when that collecting bug bites there is little cure!!!
Thanks for sharing your collection with us all........and remember that members on here are more than ready to answer any questions you may have, great bunch on here and very knowledgeable as you have already found out.
regards Kev

I should point out for your own good that unless the core is removed, an AP projectile is classified as Section 5 and prohibited even if in an inert round.

that I did not know... What classifies an AP round? What about solid shot...?

If you search the forum you should find a lot of topics about Section 5 ammo. However, for it to be classified as AP under Section 5 the projectile must have a jacket and be designed to penetrate armour, so solid shot is OK.

No time now to give more details, sorry.
