Abbreviation GLD

Hello,

In an operation-order from the USAAF is mentioned that P-47 Thunderbolts and P-38 Lightnings have to be loaded with GP bombs fused GLD.

What is the abbreviation GLD?

I think that it is General Long Delay (tail fuze with primer detonator M16A1 with 4-5 sec. or 8-15 sec.) and not a Chemical Long Delay fuze.

Who know the exact meaning of this abbreviation?

Greetings - Antoon

Put this question double on the forum. Sorry.

But G.L.D. = Ground Level Detonation.
