For some reason these seem to be really rare. Aden 30mm flat head proof.
Has anyone got an unifired one they want to sell?

Still a mystery ?

Its rare because it is NOT the norm !
Usual "Proof" rounds consist of a standard projectile and an extra strong propellant thus creating an "Overpressure" thus proofing the gun.

Sadly I cannot fill you in on the history of that one-someone somewhere knows what its exact use was !

Attached is a photo of an Aden LV Proof case marked
Proof 1Z SWN 54
30mm RF 53

Does anyone know what sort of projectile this case would have? The 1Z is the commonly found practice projectile for the Aden LV so would it be one of those or a flat head? If it was a flat head does anyone have any information about it (the one earlier on this thread is presumably for the HV case in view of the much later date on it (66)).
