Air Dropped Bombs

Just looked in the New Oxford dictionary all it mentions a straight line if you drop a load of normal bombs , they do just that, they drop in a straight line .
Any other ideas from anyone ?

...typical 'Fly Boy' lingo i guess.

Maybe the 'droppings' should stick on the target.
(droppings = air delivered ammunition, not the smelly stuff) :)

..or striking with 'the stick' as meant in strafing an enemy target.
