I was talking to a friend about the Dieppe raid August 1942. He asked what date the ammunition would be used on the raid, i said it wouldn't be the same date year and month of the conflict in question. Something which you see on Ebay when you see a listed item that is dated like 6/44 and then is listed Normandy 1944 Airborne to attract the gullible, it would be too soon to use or would it?. I would assume that ammunition was a year or two older than the date used give or take or what ever was available at the time in stores. Thinking about this would newly made ammunition be prioritised for important events such as the Dieppe raid or any other Commando raid, invasion landing or bombing mission, or was it used up whatever was available. What date would the ammunition be on the Dieppe raid?
