Evening All,
I came across the following motorbike restoration recently - found the guy had some interesting restoration methods - some more common than others:

Here a summary review + approx. video timeframes:
1) Kerosene + Engine Oil (loosening bolts /threads) [0.54 sec]
2) Citric acid + water (clean inside petrol tank) [3.05 min]
3) Acetone (petrol tank rinse) [3:30 min]
4) Battery skin cut into small pieces + phosphoric acid [6:00 min]
This is interesting - the guy then proceeds to connect to a 12v Car battery and make a spot cleaner using another AA battery - looks quite effective!
5) Linseed oil - used to quench nuts with a nice patina
6) Copper sulfate + lead acid electrolyte to produce a copper wash effect - rinse in a solution of baking soda + water [11:37 min]
7) Dimethyl Sulfoxide + sodium carbonate + dish washing liquid (engine part degreaser) [15:41 min]
8) Metal shaving + lead acid electrolyte (soaks bolts and other smaller external parts) [17:15 min]
& then
9) Rain water + baking soda (produces a really nice matt plating patina) [18:10 min]
10) Sodium carbonate - (larger body parts) [19:10 min]
Of the above, points 4, 5, 6 & 8/9 were quite fascinating - is anyone familiar or have used those specific methods?
