Another new grenade

Heres another new grenade i recently aquired (cheers Shaun)
it seems to be a standard french F1 but the fuze holder and base screw are from the British No 16 grenade.
any one got any clues? Im sure there was an earlier thread on this gren but i cant seem to find it.

Paul,

There are sufficient of these around to suggest that they were made up by a firm, rather than just a hybrid assembly by a collector etc. There is an article in a WW1 edition of Arms and Explosives that shows a British adaptation of an F1 but I cannot find it at the moment. Of course with the number of F1s and No 16s going to Russia etc., in WW1 the possibility exists that this is the connection.
