Another wierd item

During WW2,particularly in the pacific,the US bomb disposal guys had a bit of a business running in making up inerted items like this.
Largely in answer to the troops taking home live items so they figured it would be better to have them take inerted items,and a nice little earner on the side for them too!.
At times they had trouble keeping up with demand.
 
They are made up of two projectile fuzes, soldered together base to base. Several fuzes have been used and the designs vary slightly. During the period they were known as "Doodlebugs".
