Antique bore scope

I am told it is a bore scope to be placed into a chamber to see the barrel. But for which gun? The only mark is "BT". The mirror is made out of highly polished steel, supposedly.

A quick google suggests it is indeed a borescope, and the following is based 10mins looking
I would imagine the mirror is just that, or some kind of prism, hard to imagine steel remained that perfect
i would also suggest that here could be an adapter that slides onto brass end to make it fit various guns, or bores

finally could BT stand for Boresight Telescope ? Rather than a manufacturer ?
