Any ideas?

This item came into my hands years ago in a collection of fuzes. It might not even be military but does anyone recognise what it is?

has what looks like a pipe fitting fastener, and a coil. Some kind of small heating device?

The thread of ten years ago, I bow in awe of your memory especially as it was my thread!! I must not have seen the reply at that time.

I translate that as ' It is a Belgian mine pressure fuze of WW2. The lock nut on the threaded spindle is missing. I cannot say at the moment which mine it is for'. So it is now a hunt for the mine type.

Thanks Yoda. So extracting the information from the great Lexpex site it appears to be the igniter fuze for the Belgian BSB anti-tank mine captured and used by the Germans in WW2. Thanks to all for the steer in the right direction.
