AP round for 8,8 U-boat gun

Some pictures of the Pzgr 39/1 round for the U-boat gun 8,8 cm SK C/35.
The APCBC shell is equipped with the base fuze BdZ 5127.
This one has a zinc coated steel case, case length 390 mm.
Interesting about this case is that it was made from an 8,8 cm Flak 18 case. Sometimes cases from the 8,8 cm Flak 18 or 7,5 cm KwK 40 were used for this purpose when damaged or failed to comply with specifications, because the lower part of these cases have the same dimensions.

The 8,8 cm Pzgr 39/1 was also fired from:
-8,8 cm Flak 18,36,37;
-8,8 cm Kwk 36;
-8,8 cm SK C/30;
-8,8 cm Flak 41;
-8,8 cm Kwk 43 and Pak 43 series.

Greif does the projectile have a white "U" stenciled on it?

No, this one doesn't. The "U" on german ammunition stands for "Unterricht" which means "Instruction".
