Argentinian 303

Picture shows some 303 I bought at the ECRA meeting in Switzerland. The rounds were made by Kynoch and supplied to Argentina who bought Lancasters and Lincons after WW2. The rounds are; Ball 7z, Tracer G2z, AP W1z and Incendiary B4z.

Hi Buster,those are nice rounds,have they been repainted or are they original,also I notice the round on the right is shouldered,(incendiary B4z),is that a Buckingham round,?

The rounds are original and not repainted. The incendiary is a copy of the British B Mark 4 which was the last of the series of 303 incendiary bullets based on the original Buckingham patents.

Many thanks. I notice the incendiary is copper jacketed, I can only ever recall seeing cupro-nickel jacketed - is that an export spec' or am I suffering lack of exposure?

Argentine .303

You are right Tim, that is the only B4 or B4z that was made with a GM envelope.Even the last British manufactured BIVs made at RL in 1943 still had CN envelopes.

I suspect the reason was that by 1948 Kynoch had no CN on hand and so used the same material as all their other bullet envelopes.
