Artillery Headstamp

Hi, Folks,

One of my colleagues showed me a souvenir from WWII; he asked me to identify it in the mistaken belief that I'm an "expert." If the photograph is not sufficient, I can query him for dimensions. I have already searched the forums with "6z0" and "circle cross" as terms without success. Actually, the latter got a few hits: all three were NATO headstamps .

Here it is:

We would appreciate any help the members can provide.

Thanks, Highlandotter and Alpini. Any idea as to caliber and weapon? I can ask my friend to do some measurements. I would presume it's something like 37mm.

Regards,

Walt

"circle cross"

Walt,

It indeed is made by George Roth as Alpini quoted.
The circle you think to see on the headstamp is actually an intertwined "G" & "R"
