Baker rifle ball?

Got this today, sold to me as a Baker rifle ball from the Peninsular War period.
Its a lead ball, sorry, dont know the calibre, ile google it later, unfired and wrapped in leather. I believe this was so to help it grip the rifling of the Baker rifle barrel. Its the weapon so well visualised in the 'Sharpe' TV programmes.
I am quite pleased with it, now for a Baker rifle!!!

Only just spotted this thread. Great item Andy, I used to love watching Sharpe and always wanted a Baker rifle too, A little too expensive for an original one though

I too have one of Col Bakers balls. I got mine in the late 70s. I think they came out of Alnwic castle. Lancaster.

I thought Ezekiel Baker was a Master Gunsmith not a Colonel in the military. A Colonel Manningham was directly involved with it in the forming of the Rifle Corps.
Still need a lotto win though.
