Photo 1 shows a brown (Low Explosive) hazard band. I think in photo 3 I can see the ghost of a letter `M' after the `D', possibly indicating this was German manufactured. Sorry I don't know any more beyond that.
 
Looks like a version of a "Hoffman" device used on tanks to simulate gunfire while using M.I.L.E.S. gear.
