thanks slick. . phones camera works ok in good light.and the postman did take his time to deliver the grenade . .but i forgave him when i saw what i had got:)

Nice grenade! Not seen any BR marked ones with original paint left.

Is belgian grenade body always marked with BR or was there other belgian markings also?

I have about 10 of these,but only one has BR on grenade,others are marked with ATS.
Now i know what type body i should search for BR24 fuzes.

Hi .nice grenades you have.what i can gather is the belgian made body was marked with the BR but havent seen many comperd to the french f1 bodies which are more common . I cant find any reference to other belgian makers marks on these grenades .hopefully someone on bocn might have some more info on this subject as i also would like to know if there was.Darrol.

ATS = Ateliers de construction de Tarbes, France
BR = ??? I'll look tomorrow in doc !

I have "French" F1 bodies from WW2 storage also marked ARE and other with a tiny ovale surrounding FA and some letter after this but I can't read it.

Here 2 mystery markings on my WW2 F1 bodies:
-First one has very poorly visible markings but it looks to me JP.
-Second one has in ovale FAC

Any idea of maker's?

Tmine,

I have JP listed as: "Compagnie franaise du Bi-mtal, Usine de Joinville le Pont".
FAC is not on my French manufacturers list

Thanks Orpheus,
The style of FAC-marking is also unusual as it has all on one fragmentation block and additionally inside an oval. F and A are clear but C may instead be also O, U or G though it mostly looks C.
This body was found from German WW2 storage area together with numerous ordinary marked French F1-bodies.
