Bi-metallic 20mm Hispano case?

The photos attached show what is probably an unfinished 20x110 Hispano case. I would be interested in the team's view on the base of the case being of a white metal rather than brass. Having cleaned the case I can confirm that the brass finish to the base is a very thin coat which is very easily removed to reveal more white metal! The case measures 112.47mm long, rim diameter of 27.44mm, rim thickness of 4mm, primer 7.18mm diameter. Headstamp markings are H, 20mm, and 1944. For comparison the case is shown alongside a standard British Hispano case and a Madsen 20x120 round.

Hi, its been soldered onto a base and is solder residue. I had an identical unfinished hispano case a few years back which had been soldered onto a brass base about 40mm in diameter. When heated the case detached from the base and the remains of the solder on the case were the same as on yours.
Dave.
