This film covers a 1940 invasion of Norway, specifically the battle of Oscarsborg Fortress during which a German heavy cruiser Blücher was sunk https://www.imdb.com/title/tt32080656. A 1946 commission investigated Oberst Birger Eriksen, Fortress' CO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birger_Eriksen, for a possible premature surrender of the Fortress. Exquisitely executed story, with added extra perk of incredible looks of Eriksen's daughter Borghild.

I recently saw this film and thoroughly enjoyed it. As is the nature of movies they tried to make a thing of: did he have authority to fire or not? An article in the Norwegian site Forsvarets forum (Defense Forum) makes clear: yes he did! Other Norwegian forts failed to fire that night for lack of trained men, lack of instruction, fear that there were civilian vessels or Royal Navy ships but the Colonel did his duty. Filmed, by the way, at the original fort with the original guns.
