Boer 12 pounder projectile

Picked this up recently, a fired 12 pounder British projectile solid shot. Thought you guys may find it interesting. Still waiting on its arrival. Would the correct casing be the British 12 pounder casing seperate cased with the casing with the powder charge crimps in the top?

looks like a Naval practice 12pr so yes separate case, date should be on the bottom possibley month/year two digits each.

More photos of it, does the date look like 1904, or 1942 to you, as the 4 and the two don't seem to be associated
