Bofors

My son fetched this 40mm bofors from the car boot sale today, is the shell a dummy or practice round because there is something inside the shell, it has plug firing rep 259 MK N1 5/53RML

stamped on the alloy head and in yellow paint on the steel part of the projectile which I cannot make out all the letters ?epresenta????.

Aside from the colour it looks pretty much like my 'REP' round http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/78557-Original-40mm-Bofors-REP-Round... The primer in the case looks the same.

Hi . The case will have either wood or a fiberclay filling and the projectilie sometimes has a hard coal like resin or a wax filling to represent the filled weight
