Bomb Parachute ?

Hi Roller, well it certainly is a little unusual to me, especially with that metal can at the bottom and a thread in it ! I wonder what it is that is missing from that ?

My thoughts are that I cannot determine whether it is from a Shell or a Mortar bomb, but with a steel can like that it is possibly more likely to come from an Artillery shell of the Illuminating variety.

Some one here will almost certainly come up with a exact identification for you.
