Bomb Plug ?

Hi,

Any ideas what this plug might go into e.g. bomb or projectile?

Its 6 cm across the top and is stamped on the top

PLUG F RING
NO 32
MK N2 with faint /|\ mark
M O

Its 5 cm across the tread.

It is 23 cm long and is stamped on the side

D41
GX within a circle
/|\ within a square

Its 4.5 cm across the bottom.

An interesting plug. It is Australian Navy marked (N2) and MO is Maribyrnong Ordnance as you possibly already know.
It looks too long for a projectile plug. Is the thread 2"x14 pitch as used in most ordnance? Is it steel or bakelite?
It may fit one of the long VT type fuzes.

The plug is made of steel and the thread height is approx. 19 - 20 mm's with the thread width approx. 53 - 54 mm's.
