Hi All,
Nice site!
I'm shamelessly looking for some info on a bomb tail I recently acquired. I know nothing about it other than it looks like a MK4 of something, so any help much appreciated.
The stencilling on the body is 12A/9630166 TAIL NO. 107 MK4
Embossed on the impeller(?) is 126/1362 P.A. Ltd. No. 8 MK1

The No 107 Tail Unit was used on 1950-60's vintage UK 1000lb bombs carried internally on RAF Victors, Vulcans and Valiants and possibly on early Mark RN Buccaneers: as for the Arming Vane (not 'Impeller'!) the 12?/1362 is the RAF Stores Reference Number. It was made by Portsmouth Aviation Ltd (who are still making bomb tail units for the RAF) - note that the Stores Reference is not '126/1362' - the '126' should be 12 and then a letter (the correct letter escapes me but it might be B for bombs!). The No 8 Mk 1 is the Arming Vane model number.

Hope this helps

Regards
