The book is a novel and the author lived from 1899 - 1978. At one time he was a military intelligence officer and the book was published in 1926. It tells the story of John O'Donoghue, an `adventurer' and gun runner engaged by a man named Burroughs to ensure the delivery of weapons and food to insurgents in Morocco. Some of the ideas are somewhat far-fetched and parts of the plot can be anticipated before the events happen. Nevertheless it was an interesting enough book to read. The copy I read was stamped inside with details from my paternal grandfather's shop.
