Hi Spotter

The Wikipedia site is a good start: [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bouncing_bomb"]Bouncing bomb - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Duxford_UK_Feb2005_bouncingbomb.JPG" class="image"><img alt="Duxford UK Feb2005 bouncingbomb.JPG" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c9/Duxford_UK_Feb2005_bouncingbomb.JPG/300px-Duxford_UK_Feb2005_bouncingbomb.JPG"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/c/c9/Duxford_UK_Feb2005_bouncingbomb.JPG/300px-Duxford_UK_Feb2005_bouncingbomb.JPG[/ame] although I have no idea how accurate the information is.

The only other info I have is that the bomb weighed 3900 kg, contained 2600 kg (5,720 lb's) of Torpex explosive detonated via three hydrostatic pistiols mark XIV.
I'm not sure if it ever had an offical title other than Bouncing or Upkeep bomb.

There used to be a recovered example in Nothe Fort,Weymouth Dorset, i will go there in the near future and take a few pics.

Hi Qautermass,
Nice drawnings look like they are from Siegfried Werners.
May i ask from what book you got it.

Cheers mad

Hi Madbomber31

The book is called:
Bombs Gone, the development and use of British air-dropped weapons from 1912 to the present day.
Wing Commander John A. MacBean and Major Arthur S. Hogben.
ISBN 1-85260-060-8

still surprised at how little technical information is available over here in the UK on UK produced ordnance

Waff, The Germans recovered and defuzed the Bomb from Lancaster E-Easy which hit power cables near Haldern-on-Rhine and crashed with the lose off all crew.

Whats UK ord spotter?

It seems that there was no British produced manual for the bomb or release gear (the design kept changing and after the raid there was no need?)
All the info seems to come from the German bomb disposal organization.

Uk ord was reference to UK Ordnance in general ,sorry for not making it clear
