Item is bout 12 x 6 inches, mostly brass, has about a dozen moving parts. I want to know the proper name, who may have used it, when, for what purpose. Made by Buchi Optik of Bern, Switzerland, apparently ca. 1930. The important marks on the moving arms are in English, so maybe made for US or UK? Arms labeled Base, Line of Observer, Line of Fire. Any info appreciated.

Thanks, I just found another thread where I'd asked same question in 2008, which has a lot of responses on my device and others. Can't believe I totally forgot it!
