Brass disc, part of Canadian shell casing or fuze?

Found in the Nijmegen/Groesbeek area in the Netherlands (Market Garden, Veritable)

A brass disc, diameter: 4cm

With inside and outside thread.

Markings:
ll II(III?) M/C 4 AE (Primer no11 MkII?, M/C a factory in Canada?)

1951 ZY 4.. Sc/C (Sc/C = GECO in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada)

It looks like the disc has been blow out of a shell casing (or fuze?) of some kind.

Any help will be appreciated, up to now I haven't been able to find anything similar.

I'll stick my neck out and make a guess that it is the base of an artillery fuze. It is not the base of a No 11 primer. Good luck with pinning it down completely.

I believe your brass disc is the remnants (middle portion) of a No.11 Gaine, do a search in this website, it should turn up some pics of a complete one.

I found some of your (very good) pictures of No.11 Gaine on this website: I am convinced.
