Attached are photos of two of the latest additions to my mortar bomb collection. The 3 inch drill round is interesting due to the ring welded to the fins (for added durability I assume?) and the neat accessories that came with it - bag and inert charges.
Nice Mortars..... I have been collecting 3" British mortars and accessories for a while and your 3" would look great in any collection (especially mine!!) seriously you do have a beauty there with original finish by the looks. These I believe are called slipper mortars and are meant for loading practise and not meant to be fired.... I will try and load up a picture of my slipper mortar and a few bits
That is great information. I have never seen this type of mortar trainer before. I bought the 3 inch from an on line auction in the US, and I did not notice the bottom steel ring until it arrived. It is the only British 3 inch that I have seen for sale in the US; it was not cheap, but I could tell it was the good stuff.
