If I had to guess and I'm not very good at it I would say its for a 1 1/2pr Auto like a small 2pr single barrel pom pom. I have a case marked 37mm Auto by VA (Vickers Armstrong) for export in 1930. Your proj is by Vickers Armstrong Deptford. case is 37x122R
