British 40mm L70 Projectile

Pictured is a 40mm British L70 projectile, probably made in 1957 and repainted in the early 1960s. I suspect the original colour was buff for a HE round. However I would not mind being educated as to what the purple and green paint scheme indicates. I think the projectile paint is all original, if applied in an agricultural fashion! The projectile is 150mm long and any info on its designation would be appreciate. The fuze is a white painted No 255 mk4, made in 1957 and reworked in 1961.
