British 6 Pdr Antitank Gun Shell Casing

I was fortunate enough to find this to go with the APDS round I recently acquired. The British projectiles and casings are unusual to find in the US - US 57mm ammunition being rather common. I am going to guess this is a Canadian practice tracer casing from the markings? I know the APDS round should have the crimp line close to the top. Did I get lucky and find the right casing for this projectile? I would appreciate any further information our members are able to offer.

The casing is Canadian manufactured. RM/C -Robert Mitchell Co. St. Laurent, Canada.
