British 75mm smoke

Hello,

I'm looking for details about a British made 75mm smoke round.

This shell looks like the US Smoke M89.
Length : 189mm
Diam : 75mm
Typical waves under the driving band.
Paint : green
Date : 11/43
Markings : SMK 75MM HML - MK V

I'd like to know what is the filling (maybe HC) and the gun used.

75mm doesn't sound very British for me ; is it for a WW2 US tank gun ?

Is there other british made ammunitions like this one ?

Regards

Minenz,

For use in American M2 and M3 Guns and apparently 75mm Pack How. in use by the British. The shell was filled in Canada - CR/C Canadian Car & Manufacturing, Cherrier.

Filled PN 269, PN 83(M) which are Hexachloroethane based smoke mixtures. PN83(M) being the fastest burning one in service at the time. Can't assist with the PN 420.

Regards
