British 76mm query

Another recent acquisition is this British 76mm Armoured Car Practice Inert projectile.

It is essentially "direct from the manufacturers" and does not bear a British "L" series identification.

The stencil markings show the filled drawing number "SX136A" and "HE SUB" indicating an HE substitute filling and also the "T" to indicate that a tracer is/was fitted ( now removed). The rear stencil marking indicates that it was filled as Lot 174 at BAE/RO Glascoed in 2/92. It is fitted with a plug SX134A made by ATC in Feb 1992.

The empty projectile was part of Lot 648A manufactured at RO Blackburn also in Feb 1992 under drawing SX800.

I am guessing that this was part of an overseas production run given the lack of the "L" number.
Any other information would be welcome.2012-06-17 10.12.41.jpg

Armoured Car - the system was used initially on the Saladin Armoured car. The British military adopted the designation "ARMD C" and used this in conjunction with the remaining description of the ammunition for the system eg "Rounds, 76mm Armd-C HESH"..
