Another recent acquisition is this British 76mm Armoured Car Practice Inert projectile.
It is essentially "direct from the manufacturers" and does not bear a British "L" series identification.
The stencil markings show the filled drawing number "SX136A" and "HE SUB" indicating an HE substitute filling and also the "T" to indicate that a tracer is/was fitted ( now removed). The rear stencil marking indicates that it was filled as Lot 174 at BAE/RO Glascoed in 2/92. It is fitted with a plug SX134A made by ATC in Feb 1992.
The empty projectile was part of Lot 648A manufactured at RO Blackburn also in Feb 1992 under drawing SX800.
I am guessing that this was part of an overseas production run given the lack of the "L" number.
