Was the British 8lb FRAG Parachute Bomb in service?
If so, from when to when?

Development of the 8 lb Bomb Frag Mk. II began in 1940-41 and it entered service in the spring of 1942. Its first confirmed use took place in September 1942 in Egypt, during the Battle of Alam Halfa where it caused many problems to the Axis units.

Great piece of info! I always thought this ordnance entered in service in 1945 only as iot does not appears in pub;lications dated 1944 but in post war pubblications.
One makor question: How was it dropped ? (the dedicated cluster projectiles didn't enter in service till 1944 and the SBC was not designated to drop these as far as I know
