British engine start cartridge.

Hello all,
Does anyone know which aircraft used this type of cartridge? It was found with other also empty ones in a dump near an RNAS base in Cornwall, so guess it may be from a navy aircraft. The cases were black with dirt and originally had a rolled crimp securing a cup shaped disc with a hole approximately 2" / 5cms diameter in it. The crimp and disc were cut off and the cases polished to make a pair of vases, sorry about that, I was not a collector in those days!
Regards, (shamefaced),

I believe the Canberra used these cartridges. Also, you have not spoiled a couple of rare collectors' items, these things are around in the hundreds, I wouldn't pay more than 2 at the very most for one.

Falcon,
You have put my mind at rest, now I can confess to doing this to another of the cartridges.........!

The cartridge that the handle is made from is interesting, it looks like a modern production South African 20x82 MG151 round.

Hello Jayteepee,
Now you've got me thinking, I may well have a go at something similar. Is it copyrighted?
Cheers,
