Here's a nice picture of a British high capacity bomb i took the other day.

Yes, it's a 4000lb HC bomb, also known as a 'Cookie'. This one is either a Mk. III, IV, V or VI: the Mk. IV was the standard build; the Mk. III had internal differences and the Mks. V and VI were of US manufacture to British drawings with minor differences between the two Marks. There are three fuze pockets in the nose as shown. Fuzing was either 3 x No. 27, 3 x No. 42, 3 x No. 44 Pistols, or 2 x No. 47 or 2 x No. 55 Pistols in the outer fuze pockets and one of the other types in the centre.

Thanks for the info gents. Examples of those bombs must be quite rare now.
