Here's one for the shell collectors, an official photo of a smoke shell. I am sure some of our shell experts can elaborate.

105mm field smoke base ejection if I'm not mistaken. do you have any other pictures?
Givaway clue

From your picture it can clearly be seen that the shell body is a "two parter" with the base being made if steel and the top of Aluminium screwed together-105 mm Base Ejecting Smoke for the General Field Gun (GFD).
