I recently acquired a 1901 Kings Norton made British Naval 6in case, the case has been treated roughly but is still a reasonably rare item. I thought this one was worth sharing as it came with the original closing lid that I have not seen before. The other noticeable element is that the case has been used on 3 occasions and it would appear that on each occasion the case mouth has had a new set of cut-outs added for the internal sealing cup. A tad battered but not bad for 113 years old. The brass closing lid does not have any discernible marks on it.
