British nose fuze/plug?

Darkman

Well-Known Member
Trying to identify this black painted plug. I think I've seen something similar on BOCN before but I searched and couldn't find it.

It's steel, 81mm diameter and 104mm overall length.
The thread is 2 inch diameter and 14 TPI.

Only marks are on the base and include a broad arrow, a 6 and an inspection mark.

Any ideas? Bomb or artillery related?

Thanks,

Graeme

Possibly rocket? could be a fuze/plug for a 3" rocket, either Land Mattress or Aerial?

Yes it is VERY similar to the US M78 concrete piercing fuze! It has a British/Commonwealth broad arrow marked though.
